Job summary

Santa Fe Community College seeks a Procurement Advisor to provide technical assistance and training to businesses pursuing government contracting opportunities under the NM APEX Accelerator program. This exempt, 40-hour/wk position supports the DoD supply chain and does not supervise staff.

The role involves advising on registrations, certifications, costing, market research and regulatory compliance, plus delivering workshops and events to expand the program’s client base across New Mexico.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of government procurement and acquisition processes and principles.
  • Knowledge of government contracting databases such as SAM and FPDS.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DoD and small business program regulations.
  • Knowledge of APEX Accelerator policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and marketing processes.
  • Ability to work within university/colleges/government policies.
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public interaction skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Assist businesses with contracting processes, RFPs, quotes and solicitations.
  • Advise on contract readiness, registrations, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with NM APEX ecosystem partners for training and counseling.
  • Monitor procurement laws and changes, inform clients of updates.
  • Develop and facilitate training on government contracting topics.
  • Build relationships with economic development and financial groups.
  • Maintain client databases and analyze procurement opportunities.
  • Recruit new clients through events and outreach.
  • Travel within New Mexico and occasionally out of state for conferences.
