Addison Group in Tysons, VA is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional with 2+ years of government contracting experience to handle invoicing, cost validation, and closeout documentation. This onsite role supports accurate billing, fund monitoring, and audits, contributing to monthly and annual financial processes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and strong Excel, reconciliation, and analytical skills to ensure compliance with FAR Part 31 and contract terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience in a government contracting environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience in government contract accounting, project accounting, contract billing, corporate accounting, or public accounting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Strong account reconciliation and month-end close experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review customer invoices for Cost-Plus, Time & Materials, and fixed-price contracts.
• Validate labor, subcontractor, and other direct costs for billing accuracy and contract compliance.
• Perform billing reconciliations and analyze unbilled receivables.
• Support preparation of final invoices, vouchers, and contract closeout documentation.
• Monitor contract funding and assist with resolving billing discrepancies.
• Partner with Contracts and Program Management teams to support accurate and timely billing.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with balance sheet account analysis and financial reporting.
• Support external audits and annual reporting requirements.
• Assist with preparation of annual Incurred Cost Submissions.
• Support indirect cost rate calculations, reconciliations, and true-up analyses.
• Apply FAR Part 31 principles when reviewing allowable and unallowable costs.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for DCAA audits and compliance reviews.
• Support final indirect rate settlement and contract closeout activities.
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with internal controls and company policies.
• Participate in accounting and finance process improvement initiatives.
