Job summary

Truestone, an Akima company, in Tobyhanna, PA, seeks a Welder with strong Aluminum TIG/MIG and Flux Core experience for a government contract. Candidates must be a US citizen and pass a government background check (including credit), drug test, and physical.

The role requires reading blueprints and working in various positions with shielded arc, MIG, TIG and brazing processes. Flexibility is needed to support first, second or third shifts.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Aluminum TIG, Aluminum MIG, Flux Core and Steel MIG.
• Must pass government background check (including credit) for Public Trust.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug test and physical.

Responsibilities

• Welds metal components to fabricate/repair products per blueprints or work orders.
• Uses MIG, TIG, brazing and other welding processes on aluminum, steel and armor plate.
• Locations and repairs cracks in engine heads; reads and interprets blueprints/diagrams.
• Works in flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead positions; reads layouts and applies weld standards.
• Maintains safety to prevent burns, eye injuries and electric shocks.
• Work may involve disassembly, pre-heating, cutting, heat treating and post-weld finishing.
