Location: Washington, DC, Hybrid (3–4 days/week in office)

Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law (LDB) seeks a highly organized and mission-driven professional to support its policy, advocacy, and educational efforts. The Government Affairs & Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning and executing events, webinars, and congressional meetings; scheduling lobbying and advocacy meetings; and providing administrative support to senior leadership. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and a deep commitment to LDB’s mission of combating antisemitism and promoting civil and human rights.

Key Responsibilities

Event & Meeting Coordination

  • Plan, organize, and execute in-person and virtual events, including educational webinars, advocacy briefings, and conferences.
  • Coordinate congressional meetings and other advocacy events, including room bookings, security clearances, and materials preparation.
  • Liaise with vendors, venues, and partner organizations to ensure smooth logistics.
  • Schedule lobbying meetings with congressional offices, executive agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain an updated calendar of advocacy events, hearings, and relevant policy deadlines.
  • Support the preparation of briefing materials, talking points, and follow-up correspondence for legislative engagements.

Administrative Support

  • Manage calendars for senior leadership, ensuring efficient scheduling and prioritization of commitments.
  • Assist with travel arrangements, expense tracking, and project timelines.
  • Maintain organized records of events, meetings, and advocacy efforts.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in political science, public policy, communications, event management, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in event coordination, legislative scheduling, or advocacy support.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to the mission of the Brandeis Center, including combating antisemitism and defending civil and human rights.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a nonprofit, advocacy organization, congressional office, or government agency.
  • Knowledge of congressional processes and DC advocacy community.
  • Proficiency with virtual event platforms
  • Hybrid role with 3–4 days/week in the DC office.
  • Some evening or early morning work required for events or meetings.
  • Occasional travel for conferences or advocacy events.
