Job description

Korn Ferry is conducting a search for a Government Affairs Associate on behalf of a leading global investment firm with a diverse portfolio of companies across multiple industries. This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career government affairs or public policy professional to join a high-performing team and gain broad exposure to policy, regulatory, and legislative issues impacting businesses at the federal, state, and local levels.

This role will support a dynamic government affairs function, partnering closely with senior leadership on policy research, legislative and regulatory monitoring, stakeholder engagement, portfolio company support, and public affairs initiatives. The successful candidate will help translate complex policy developments into actionable business insights while contributing to strategic projects across a diverse investment portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and policy developments.
  • Conduct research and prepare briefing materials, presentations, policy memoranda, and executive communications.
  • Support development and execution of government affairs strategies and priorities.
  • Assist with political and regulatory intelligence reporting.
  • Coordinate with portfolio company leaders, external advisors, trade associations, and consultants.
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities, events, meetings, and compliance-related initiatives.
  • Develop and improve systems, processes, and workflows that enhance team effectiveness.
Ideal Background
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, congressional or executive branch offices, regulatory affairs, lobbying, public affairs, consulting, trade associations, or related fields.
  • Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise recommendations.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and sound judgment.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and technology to support research and workflow efficiency is a plus.
