Job summary

Compensation Board is seeking an experienced Accountant to serve as Purchase Officer and to manage requisitions, purchase orders, and related financial duties. The role involves processing fiscal documents, reconciling accounting data in Cardinal, and tracking invoices and inventory for the agency.

Qualified applicants will have GAAP knowledge, procurement regulation familiarity, and experience with Cardinal, EVA, and FAACS; VCA Certification or progression toward it is required within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and government accounting practices.
• Apply accounting theory to daily accounting tasks.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage multi-faceted workloads under deadlines.
• Experience with Cardinal, EVA, and FAACS.
• Proficient in PC-based software: Excel, Access, Word.
• VCA Certification required or obtainable within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare requisitions/purchase orders for agency goods/services via EVA and state contracts.
• Code, process, and reconcile fiscal documents in Cardinal; maintain accounting files.
• Compile, review, and track invoices from VITA; manage IT inventory and payments.
• Support fixed assets maintenance in FAACS; handle vendor records and payments.
• Assist with other accounting duties and agency projects as needed.
