Job summary

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of the application of established bookkeeping and accounting principles and techniques to governmental accounting transactions.
• Broad knowledge of the procedures and policies of the fixed assets program.
• Broad knowledge of accounting and office practices, methods and procedures used by the County.
• Ability to use a computer and other office equipment in preparing and maintaining records in areas of accounting, telecommunications, insurance, and assets.
• Ability to understand or apply laws, regulations, and policies to the maintenance of financial records.

Responsibilities

• Oversees accounts payable workflow and reviews work to propose improvements.
• Manages insurance programs, claims, and asset-related schedules for annual audit.
• Handles capital asset program, depreciation calculations, and asset tagging/dispositions.
• Reconciles payroll workpapers to general ledger and posts journal entries.
• Maintains revenue ledgers and reconciles with Treasurer’s Office and distribution reports.
