Solution One Industries in Killeen, TX invites an experienced Assistant Controller to lead payroll operations, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations within a government contracting environment.

You will partner with HR, Program Management, and Contracts to ensure proper labor charging, payroll controls, and alignment with contract pricing and billing, while supporting DCMA/DCAA audits and overall GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience in a government contracting environment.
• Hands-on experience with payroll accounting and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll accounting, payroll posting, labor distribution, reconciliations, and funding alignment.
• Review payroll registers, tax filings, benefits accruals, and payroll-related journal entries for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure proper labor charging in accordance with contract terms, pricing, CBAs, wage determinations, and internal policies.
• Lead month-end close activities and prepare balance sheet reconciliations; monitor indirect cost pools for accuracy.
• Support audits (DCMA/DCAA, external CPA) and maintain audit-ready documentation.
