Job summary

BigBear.ai is hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, provision, and operate core cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud or Azure Government, ensuring IL5 compliance and secure, scalable foundations.

You will collaborate with data engineering and platform teams, implement Terraform IaC, manage Kubernetes, and support DR, backup, and continuous monitoring in a remote-first environment. Remote with possible DMV travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8–10 years of cloud infra experience.
• Active TS security clearance and ability to obtain AWS/Azure certs within a month.
• Strong IaC (Terraform) and Kubernetes experience in gov cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and operate core cloud infrastructure (compute, storage, networking) in AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
• Own network design (VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, security groups) and private connectivity patterns.
• Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to ensure performant, highly available database services.
• Support Kubernetes infra needs and IL5-aligned controls, monitoring, and incident readiness.
