Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace in New York is seeking a Cheese Manager to lead our busy gourmet cheese department. You will coach Cheese Clerks, introduce new products, and create an engaging, educational experience for customers.

Bring your deep knowledge of cheese varieties, storage, and shelf life, plus strong leadership and customer service skills. This is a full-time on-site role offering opportunities and perks in a vibrant team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in a gourmet cheese department, including product selection and inventory management.
• Expertise in cheese storage, shelf life, pairings, and shipments.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate cheese knowledge effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to supervise a team.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of Cheese Clerks, guiding product selection and training.
• Deliver a unique, enthusiastic, and educational experience for every customer.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of cheese varieties, pairings, inventory, and shelf life.
• Oversee department operations, including packing, labeling, merchandising, and sanitation.
• Ensure all store policies and safety procedures are followed.
• Perform other duties to maintain a smooth-running department.
