Job summary

Scheels in Fargo, ND is seeking a Golf Club Fitter to help customers select and customize clubs, provide expert advice, and ensure a top-notch fitting experience. You will learn and apply launch monitor data, stock and organize gear, and participate in ongoing product knowledge sessions.

This role emphasizes teamwork, ownership, and customer care, with opportunities for certifications and employee ownership benefits as part of Scheels ESOP and health coverage offerings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or 3 months related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Able to interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Willing to complete Master Fitting School certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise
  • Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
  • Follow instructions per service and repair requests, including reshafting, club extensions, regriping, cut downs/tipping, loft/lie adjustments, and club stamping
  • Fit golf clubs per Scheels and vendor expectations
  • Attend and attain certifications from the Master Fitting School
  • Read and interpret launch monitor numbers to assist customers in club selection and alignment
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, associates, and customers
  • Use tools and equipment such as a torch, grinder, and saw safely to meet Scheel's expectations
  • Attend sales and product knowledge training meetings
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to also exert up to 50 - 80 lbs of pulling force regularly.
