Job summary

Scheels is hiring for a retail associate role in Fargo. You will assist customers, stock merchandise, and perform club-fitting tasks as part of a team oriented environment.

The position requires basic education (high school diploma or GED) or related experience, and offers opportunities for certification and professional growth within our ESOP company culture.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or 3 months related experience or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions

Responsibilities

  • Answer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise
  • Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
  • Follow instructions for service and repair requests (reshafting, club extensions, regripping, cut downs/tipping, loft/lie adjustments, stamping)
  • Fit golf clubs per Scheels and vendor expectations
  • Attend Master Fitting School certifications
  • Read launch monitor numbers to assist customers in club selection and alignment
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, associates, and customers
  • Use tools like torch, grinder, and saw safely
  • Attend sales and product knowledge training meetings
  • Read and interpret safety rules and manuals

Responsibilities

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to also exert up to 50 - 80 lbs of pulling force regularly.
