Job summary

The Sea Pines Resort is seeking a The Golf Starter / Ranger to greet guests with southern hospitality, verify tee times, and help maintain pace of play and course etiquette. You will assist players, answer questions about the course and resort amenities, and coordinate with golf operations to ensure a smooth guest experience.

Applicants should have at least a high school diploma and 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience, with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year in customer service, hospitality, golf operations, or related work preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of golf, etiquette, and pace-of-play expectations.
• Excellent interpersonal and guest-service skills.
• Professional demeanor when handling guest concerns or conflicts.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and guests with southern hospitality and a professional first impression.
• Verify tee times and ensure proper scheduling for play.
• Communicate course conditions, rules, pace expectations, and instructions.
• Facilitate the start of play for all groups.
• Assist guests with questions about the course, facilities, and resort amenities.
• Maintain logs of tee sheet activity and operational information.
• Coordinate with Golf Shop and other staff for a seamless guest experience.
• Patrol the course to monitor pace of play and guest experience.
