Qualifications

  • Ability to learn POS and tee sheet systems.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests and provide exceptional service.
  • Assist with daily Golf Shop operations, answer phones, tee time inquiries.
  • Process transactions accurately through the POS system.
  • Support merchandise displays and inventory management.
  • Assist with golf events, tournaments, and outings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized Golf Shop and coordinate with other departments.
  • Open and close procedures as assigned.

Overview

Colonial Country Club is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Golf Shop Assistant to join our Golf Operations team. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming experience for members and guests while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Golf Shop and golf facilities.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong communication and organizational skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced club environment. Knowledge of golf is helpful but not required for a candidate who is eager to learn.

Experience Required
  • Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or golf-related experience preferred but not required.
  • Friendly, professional, and service-oriented demeanor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent service to members and guests.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn point-of-sale and tee sheet systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle transactions accurately.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Dependable and punctual with a positive attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of golf and golf terminology is preferred.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform routine tasks associated with Golf Shop operations.
  • Ability to lift and carry merchandise, golf equipment, and other items weighing up to approximately 30 pounds.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional manner and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with daily Golf Shop operations, including answering phones, responding to member questions, and assisting with tee time inquiries.
  • Check in golfers and process Golf Shop transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system.
  • Assist members and guests with merchandise purchases and general questions regarding golf operations.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and professional Golf Shop environment.
  • Assist with receiving, displaying, organizing, and maintaining Golf Shop merchandise.
  • Support the Golf Professional staff with tournaments, outings, leagues, and other golf events.
  • Communicate effectively with outside operations and other club departments to ensure a seamless member and guest experience.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge of daily golf activities, club events, course conditions, and applicable policies.
  • Help ensure club policies and golf course procedures are communicated and followed in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Professional staff.
