Job summary

Fisher Island Club is seeking a dedicated Golf Pro Assistant for the seasonal period. The role focuses on delivering quality instruction to members and guests, assisting with club fitting and repairs, and supporting tournament operations under the Director of Golf.

Applicants should have 2 years in the golf industry and be an apprentice or member of the PGA of America, with willingness to work weekends and holidays. Competitive wages and full benefits apply.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in the golf industry is required.
• Must be an apprentice or member of The PGA of America.
• Provide quality golf instruction to members and guests both individually and group settings with the ability to utilize golf teaching video software.
• Custom fit players with golf equipment.
• Run golf tournament schedule under the direction of the Director of Golf.
• Provide members and guests with quality club repair.
• Run member tournament program under the direction of the Director of Golf.
• Supervise the golf handicap system.
• Play golf with members and guests when time allows.
• Work in Golf Shop as needed.
• Keep golf course properly marked with appropriate hazard stakes, out of bounds stakes and yardages.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality golf instruction to members and guests, leveraging video analysis when helpful.
• Assist with custom fitting and club repair services for players.
• Coordinate and run member tournaments and the overall tournament schedule.
• Assist in Golf Shop operations and guest services as needed.
• Maintain accurate handicap records and course marking for hazards and yardages.

Position Requirements:

Education/Experience:

• Provide quality golf instruction to members and guests both individually and group situations with the ability to utilize golf teaching video software.
• Custom fit players with golf equipment.
• Run golf tournament schedule under the direction of the Director of Golf.
• Provide members and guests with quality club repair
• Run member tournament program under the direction of the Director of Golf.
• Supervise the golf handicap system.
• Play golf with members and guests when time allows.
• Work in Golf Shop as needed.
• Keep golf course properly marked with appropriate hazard stakes, out of bounds stakes and yardages.
• Bring any issues regarding staff and golf operation to the attention of the Director of Golf.
• Off-season: assistant professionals will work outside service shifts due to staff size and longer days, and to cover for outside staff during vacations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
