Job summary

Prairie Highlands Golf Club in Olathe, Kansas is seeking a full-time First Assistant Golf Professional. Under supervision from the Head Golf Professional, you will supervise facilities and staff and assist daily operations within the golf department.

You will promote golf activities, organize daily play and tournaments, and assist in promoting/selling club memberships while maintaining strong member relations in a busy club environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 6–12 months related experience or training.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and property management systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the Golf Shop and assists Head Golf Professional in overseeing staff.
• Ensures effective orientation and training for new associates.
• Attends functions or meetings in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.
• Oversee and coordinate junior programs and clinics.
• Handles inventory control including receiving, marking, ringing sales and monthly counts.
• Controls the tee sheet.
• Prepares for all golf outings: scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets and hole assignments.
• Develops relationships with the membership and promotes club memberships.
• Oversees outside service staff scheduling and facilities, including practice areas and cart storage.
• Promotes and sells golf shop merchandise.
• Club repair activities.
• Maintains understanding of membership categories, sale processes and enrollment.
• Prepares monthly membership reports for the general manager and owners.
• Performs other duties as required.
