Job summary

Five Iron Golf DC LLC is seeking a General Manager of Performance to oversee golf operations at our Washington location. The role focuses on driving revenue across golf-specific offerings, memberships, lessons, leagues, and retail, while leading and developing a high-performing staff.

The GM of Performance will ensure guest satisfaction, proficiency with golf simulators and equipment, and maintain quality service standards.

Qualifications

• Passion for golf.
• 5+ years of hospitality, hotel, golf course/club, or sports management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership ability and willingness to lead by example.
• Exemplary communication, time management and organization skills.
• Social and interpersonal skills to cultivate guest relationships.
• Familiarity with swing analysis technology and launch monitor technology.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to be present during high-value times.
• Ability to stand, walk and bend for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, and train morning and afternoon golf staff, including Assistant General Manager of Performance.
• Manage P&L for golf-specific & retail offerings; achieve quarterly revenue targets.
• Liaise with Director of Instruction to manage coaches availability and performance to meet revenue goals.
• Set and manage service standards for all golf staff.
• Evaluate golf staff performance to meet day-to-day needs.
• Build relationships within the community and foster loyalty among guests.
• Ensure guest satisfaction through proactive engagement during bookings.
• Maintain knowledge of products and services and sell across offerings.
• Build the membership community through events and local partnerships.
• Communicate golf-specific needs to leadership and corporate teams.
• Provide excellent account services from onboarding to termination.
• Maintain knowledge of food and beverage offerings and deliver premium service.
• Follow health, safety, and legal drinking age regulations.
