Job summary

The Golf Member Associate at YMCA of South Hampton Roads will operate the service desk, handle memberships and greens fees, and assist with class registrations and merchandise sales. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a welcoming club environment.

• Assisting with merchandise display and inventory.
• Representing the organization through positive attitude and demonstrating a passion to help others enjoy the game of golf.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Golf Member Associate is responsible for operation of the service desk, membership transactions, greens fees and class registration, merchandise sales, financial transactions, golfer check-in, information, communication, and indoor facility supervision. Customer service is the number one priority. Some light cleaning is also required.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance and successful completion and maintenance of applicable position requirements, which may include background screening, driver's license review, CPS screening, drug and/or alcohol testing, or other screenings as required by the position or applicable law.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position operates in indoor and outdoor golf, recreational, and community-based environments and regularly interacts with team members, leaders, members, guests, vendors, and other stakeholders. The role requires frequent walking, standing, running, bending, kneeling, climbing, stooping, sitting on the floor and returning to a standing position, and other physical activity associated with golf and member service operations. The position requires the ability to lift, pull, carry, and move up to 50 pounds and may involve prolonged periods of standing or sitting. Exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions may occur, and flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required based on operational and organizational needs.

COMPENSATION:

Hourly Range: $12.77 - $14.00

The hourly range provided reflects the YMCA of South Hampton Roads’ good-faith determination of the minimum and maximum starting hourly for this position.
