The Golf Instructor is responsible for teaching all aspects of the game of golf, the nine character values, and the nine healthy habits to youth, teens, and families, according to The First Tee guidelines.
This position operates in indoor and outdoor golf, recreational, and community-based environments and regularly interacts with team members, leaders, members, program participants, families, and other stakeholders. The role requires frequent walking, standing, running, bending, kneeling, climbing, stooping, sitting on the floor and returning to a standing position, and other physical activity associated with golf instruction and program delivery. The position requires the ability to lift, pull, carry, and move up to 50 pounds, remain standing or seated for extended periods, maintain attention to detail while managing multiple tasks, and physically complete required job-related certifications. Exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions may occur, and flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required based on program and organizational needs.

Hourly Range: $12.77 - $15.00 hourly
The wage range provided reflects the YMCA of South Hampton Roads’ good‑faith determination of the minimum and maximum starting salary for this position.
