Job summary

Kiawah Island Golf Resort is seeking an events/golf group coordinator to professionally coordinate groups and events across resort departments. You will liaise with planners from planning through post-departure, ensuring seamless experiences and high guest satisfaction.

You will coordinate on-site and off-site activities, arrange golf tournaments and banquets, and upsell resort offerings while working closely with multiple departments. Strong organization and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Experience coordinating events or groups in a resort or hotel is preferred.
• Ability to upsell resort services and manage multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Meet with group representatives to conduct property tours and coordinate event planning.
• Plan and execute golf tournaments, banquet services, and group-related resort activities.
• Upsell a variety of resort services, amenities, and products to enhance the guest experience.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Retail, Golf Operations, Scoring, and other resort teams for seamless group experiences.
• Coordinate on-island and off-site group activities and events.
• Manage group accounting processes and monitor room blocks for accuracy and availability.
• Distribute group and event information to resort departments via forms, meetings, and communications.
• Monitor group activities to ensure operations meet or exceed client expectations.
• Resolve issues proactively with strong problem-solving and decision-making.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, guests, and internal departments.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and creativity in planning and executing events.
• Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Position Summary

Under supervision of the Director of Catering and Conference Services, professionally and accurately coordinates the activities of the Resort’s various departments for Golf Groups, typically 12 or more guests contracted through Group Sales, as well as Day Golf Groups and Tournaments. In addition, may coordinate corporate, association and social groups. Acts as liaison between the planner or group contact and the Resort staff from planning phase, through on-site events, to follow-up post departure. Contributes to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous resort or hotel experience preferred.
• Food and Beverage experience preferred.
• Golf industry knowledge or experience helpful.
• Proficient computer skills and typing ability required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills preferred.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the resort property for extended periods while conducting tours, attending events, and overseeing group activities.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment to perform administrative duties.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds occasionally.
