Job summary

The USGA is seeking a Test Engineer to support the Equipment Testing team in executing testing activities for golf equipment at our Pinehurst, NC campus. The role emphasizes safe, accurate, and efficient testing of equipment.

You will design and develop testing equipment, maintain labs, analyze data, and prepare technical reports while coordinating repairs and field testing with outside parties. 3+ years of experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute work independently.
• Ability to follow complex, multi-step written test procedures.
• Proficiency in software development or scripting for test automation, data analysis, or equipment control.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to create clear technical reports.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, and data reporting tools.
• Ability to perform physical work in a laboratory, including lifting and carrying equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new testing equipment, procedures, and methodologies.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory and testing equipment.
• Perform data analysis and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Conduct golf equipment testing for conformance, test service, and research.
• Participate in field testing activities and travel as required.
• Manage testing projects from concept through implementation and reporting.
