Job summary

TaylorMade Golf Company is seeking a Performance Research Engineer in Carlsbad, CA to advance equipment performance through lab, player, field, and Tour testing. You will lead advanced testing protocols, collect clean data, and translate observations into actionable engineering direction.

The role requires a strong golf background, experience with launch monitors, motion capture, and high-speed video analysis, and the ability to work across R&D, product development, and analytics teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
Experience with golf launch monitors, motion capture, or high-speed video analysis.
Analytical mindset with familiarity in statistical methods and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of advanced performance testing protocols for golf clubs and balls in lab, player, field, and Tour environments.
Own performance engineering for product areas across woods, irons, putter/wedge, or cross-category initiatives.
Support PGA/LPGA Tour testing by collecting clean, repeatable data in player-facing environments.
Analyze large datasets to extract insights on ball speed, launch, spin, and performance tradeoffs.
Translate observations into engineering recommendations, validation plans, and follow-up experiments.
Develop automated data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools for performance tracking and cross-functional decisions.
Collaborate with R&D, Product Development, Tour, Fitting, and Analytics teams to integrate feedback into design.
Conduct benchmarking and present findings to influence strategy and targets.
