Job summary

Troon is hiring a Golf Course Superintendent at Antelope Hills in Prescott, AZ. You will lead maintenance operations, manage budgets, oversee greens and turf programs, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

This role requires an AA or higher in agronomy/ horticulture or equivalent experience, strong English communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. You will supervise a diverse team and coordinate seasonal tasks from winterization to spring prep.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Degree preference in agronomy/ horticulture/ plant/soil science).
• Degree preference in agronomy/ horticulture/ plant/soil science.
• Ability to read and speak English is required to perform the job duties.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans.
• Plans, organizes and directs the maintenance and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervises the planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees and ornamental plants.
• Ensures that maintenance equipment is properly maintained.
• Procures supplies and materials within budgetary limitations.
• Keeps records of annual maintenance activities and costs; prepares reports.
• Implements sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors, when possible.
• Coordinates snow removal (depending upon facility location).
• Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed including compliance with government regulations.
• Ensures proper training and licenses for safe job performance; addresses environmental concerns.
• Manages winterization and spring preparations; coordinates turf care and irrigation repairs.
• Operates and maintains irrigation systems, pumps, and related equipment.
