Job Title: Golf Course Superintendent

Position Summary

The golf course superintendent reports to the Director of Golf Course Maintenance and is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and management of golf courses.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years experience in golf course management/maintenance.
• Basic computer skills and moderate accounting knowledge (GL).

Skills and Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management.
• Knowledge of golf facility construction principles and golf rules.
• Strong administrative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
• Participation in continuing education; current pesticide applicator license.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Includes lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, standing, kneeling, sitting, walking, typing, and operating equipment, with varying environmental conditions.

Work Environment

Includes exposure to fumes, chemicals, heat, noise, and variable indoor/outdoor settings. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Necessary Traits
