Job summary

BrightView is seeking a Superintendent to manage golf course maintenance, operations, and budget in Boca Raton, FL. This role acts as a liaison between BrightView, the customer representative, and the golf shop to ensure daily course operations run smoothly.

The candidate will oversee maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, and equipment, lead staff, and ensure compliance with course and BrightView policies. A pesticide license and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture.
  • Knowledge of greens, tees, fairways, roughs and bunkers maintenance.
  • Degree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant or soil science.
  • Strong administrative and written/oral communication skills and computer proficiency.
  • Certified and/or licensed for pesticide usage.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct maintenance per contract specifications.
  • Partner with customer to develop a long-term property improvement plan.
  • Supervise operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment assigned to the course.
  • Prepare and operate within annual budget estimates.
  • Create and follow an annual agronomic plan within contract terms and budget.
  • Procure and manage supplies and materials for maintenance activities.
  • Create and distribute reports of maintenance activities.
  • Manage golf course staff including interviewing, hiring, training, discipline.
  • Protect company interests by complying with all regulations and policies.
  • Administer BrightView Safety Program and BV360 Management Program.
  • Represent BrightView Golf Maintenance positively and professionally.
  • Maintain effective employee and public relations.
  • Meet or exceed external and internal customer expectations.

Job Summary
  • The Superintendentis responsible for the maintenance, operation, and management of a golf course. This role serves as a liaison between the company, the customer representative, and the golf shop on matters related to daily courseoperations. The Superintendent is easily contacted and remains in contact with the key employees on the golf course at alltimes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and direct maintenance of all areas within the scope and according to the technical specifications of the contract
  • Partner with the customer to understand or develop a long‑term property improvement plan
  • Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment assigned to the course
  • Prepare and operate within annual budget estimates
  • Prepare and follow an annual agronomic plan that operates within the technical specifications of the contract and the annual budget
  • Procure and manage supplies and materials to support maintenance activities
  • Create and distribute reports of maintenance activities as required
  • Manage golf course employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, discipline, and separation
  • Protect the company’s interest through an awareness of and compliance with all applicable regulations, including course and company policies
  • Administer all aspects of the BrightView Safety Program and the BrightView BV360 Management Program
  • Represent BrightView Golf Maintenance positively and professionally, including attitude, appearance, and speech
  • Maintain effective employee and public relations
  • Meet or exceed external and internal customer expectations
Education and Experience:
  • Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture
  • Working knowledge of the construction, establishment, and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers
  • Degree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant, or soil science
  • High degree of administrative and executive ability, including effective oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency
  • Certified and /or licensed for pesticide usage
  • Familiar with the characteristics and proper use of fertilizers and soil conditioners
  • Knowledge of irrigation, including watering practices, irrigation systems, pumps, wells, and automatic controls and drainage
  • Ability to prepare the course for play in accordance with the rules of golf
  • Ability to evaluate the course from the player’s perspective
  • Valid driver’s license
Physical Demands/Requirements:
  • Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and computer printer
  • Ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of walking, standing, and kneeling
  • Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known
    allergic reactions should they occur.
Work Environment:
  • Work in an indoor office and also outdoors during site walkthroughs and site supervision duties
