Job summary

The Moorings Yacht & Country Club in Vero Beach, FL seeks a Golf Course Ranger/Starter to manage pace of play, enforce rules, and assist players at the tee. The role requires outdoor work, strong communication, and a courteous service mindset. High school diploma or equivalent is required; weekends and evenings may be required.

Previous golf knowledge is preferred but not mandatory. Flexible days and hours with the ability to work in a club environment; this is an entry-level, hourly, non-exempt

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Check with Golf Shop for any special instructions or requests.
• Ensure players tee off at their assigned tee times.
• Observe pace of play and request slower groups to speed up when appropriate.
• Inform shop services about rate of play as needed.
• Provide players with score cards, pencils, rules, and amenities.
• Restrict entry to the course beyond starting tee.
• Promote course care: divot repair sand, ball marks, rake traps.
• Escort unauthorized people from the golf course.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations.
• Promote facility programs and events to Members.
• Maintain clean appearance of the starter’s booth.
• Advise players and cart attendants about course conditions.
• Assist cart room attendants when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
