Job summary

Esplanade at St Marys in St Mary, GA is seeking a full-time Assistant Superintendent to oversee golf course maintenance and construction, partnering with the Superintendent to protect turf and ensure quality.

The role requires 3–4 years in golf course maintenance, a degree, and strong budgeting, scheduling, and staff training skills; responsibilities include managing greens, tees, fairways, and bunkers, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher; degree in agronomy/ horticulture/ plant/ soil science preferred.
• 3–4 years related experience in golf course maintenance or equivalent.
• Ability to manage budgets and capital plans; strong planning and leadership.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and construction of golf course; ensure turf repair and maintenance to standards.
• Plan, organize and direct maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate training and orientation of new associates.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and costs; assist with reports and purchasing procedures.
• Coordinate snow removal as location requires; ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
