The Club at Crazy Mountain Ranch is seeking a Golf Course Maintenance Operator for Summer 2025. This seasonal role supports greens, tees, and fairways using a range of equipment on the ranch's private golf course in Montana.

Operator duties include equipment operation, maintenance tasks, and participation in course construction projects. Housing may be available; duties and timing span April to November 2025.

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Knowledge of safe mechanical operation of equipment and vehicles.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Prior golf course maintenance or outdoor grounds experience preferred.
• Positive, collaborative attitude with coworkers.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate mowing equipment and perform turfgrass maintenance on greens, tees, and fairways.
• Use walk mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles, and specialty machinery.
• Assist with other labor tasks and power equipment maintenance.
• Contribute to construction-related projects across the course.
• Maintain fuel, fluids, and cleaning of equipment daily.
• Report equipment issues to the supervisor and follow safety procedures.
• Support cleanup and safety practices across maintenance areas.

Position Summary

At Crazy Mountain Ranch, The Golf Course Maintenance Operator reports to the Director of Golf Course and Grounds/ Assistant Superintendents while performing various golf course maintenance tasks. The Equipment Operator will be directly involved in a variety of maintenance assignments associated with the care of golf course greens, tees, fairways, and other golf course features and areas. Maintenance operations will be performed utilizing a vast assortment of specialized equipment, machinery, utility vehicles, and hand tools.

Job Duties

• Operate various types of mowing equipment on the golf course in the maintenance of turfgrass areas.
• Equipment operation includes self-propelled walk mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles, lightweight mowing equipment, and other specialty machinery utilized in golf course maintenance work.
• The Equipment Operator contributes to the maintenance operation by performing other labor tasks with various hand tools and specialized golf course power equipment.
• The Equipment Operator will also be involved with several types of construction-related projects throughout the golf course.
• Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment daily while also ensuring the proper cleaning and care procedures.
• Reports equipment problems to the Equipment Manager.
• Participates in cleaning maintenance areas and operates within the safety training procedures.
