Job summary

Marin Country Club, located in Novato, CA, seeks a full-time Assistant Superintendent to support golf course operations and supervise maintenance staff. The role is tied to Troon’s global leadership in golf and community management.

The compensation ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 annually, with benefits, and opportunities to contribute to major projects and irrigation improvements. The position emphasizes safety, training, and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Director of Agronomy and Superintendent to create yearly budgets, agronomic calendars, and project schedules.
• Works with the Superintendent to create daily and weekly schedules for the maintenance team.
• Oversees daily maintenance of the property and ensures tasks are completed safely and to club standards.
• Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training new team members.
• Oversees orientation and training of new team members.
• Develops and maintains training programs for each task on the golf course.
• Evaluates team members' performance for annual reviews and daily feedback.
• Addresses complaints and problems among team members professionally.
• Works with irrigation technicians to maintain the irrigation system.
• Manages water usage to balance playability and turf health.
• Performs safety training and inspections of equipment and work areas.
• Maintains MSDS data sheets and product labels.
• Keeps chemical storage areas compliant with regulations.
• Maintains a log of applications and related reports.
• Oversees chemical and fertilizer application calibration.
