Job summary

The Management Trust is seeking a Golf Course Maintenance Foreman to oversee grounds and maintenance of the Skyline Mountain Resort golf course in Fairview, UT. Primary duties include mowing, fertilizing, chemical applications, and equipment upkeep under supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent.

This non-exempt, full-time position requires 4–5 years of golf course maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and ability to work in all weather.

Employee Owner Position Purpose

The Golf Course Maintenance Foreman is primarily responsible for the general maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, irrigation, and electrical systems in golf course areas of the Association. In addition, performs chemical applications on golf course properties, fertilizing tees, greens and fairways and applies chemicals on greens in golf course areas of the Association.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform grounds maintenance (i.e. blowing and pressure washing as needed), as well as turf/grass maintenance (i.e. mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, dethatching, and over-seeding)
• Mow fairways, rough, greens, and other grass areas within the community
• Trim shrubbery both on and off the golf course
• Clean up clippings after mowing and trimming; properly dispose of clippings and debris
• General maintenance of restrooms, bridges, cart paths, and other structures on the golf course
• Plant and weed flower beds throughout the community common areas
• Mix & load herbicides, fungicides, insecticides under the supervision of a chemical license holder.
• Apply and spray any herbicides, fungicides, insecticides used on the golf course turf areas and landscape.
• Operate spray equipment, motorized or manual, to perform treatments needed.
• Reads, understands and keeps current with chemical labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Wear all safety personal protective equipment required by each individual product, and or specified by his license holder.
• Work directly under the supervision and have constant radio communication with chemical license holder at all times.
• Rinse and wash all equipment as directed by label and license holder.
• Store and contain all material used in a safe manner.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

• Experience in golf course maintenance – with generally between 4-5 years of experience
• Experience as a spray technician, loading, missing, and applying material
• Conflict resolution skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and address time-sensitive issues
• Superior multi-tasking skills
• Ability to provide high-level customer service with astute attention to detail and organization
• Must be a team player
• Ability to manage workflow amid shifting priorities
• Willing to learn Company process and procedures, and learn/use proprietary software
• Adaptable and dependable with a solid attendance record
• Professional and respectful demeanor with all internal and external customers at all times

Special Position Requirements

• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with Company policy

Essential Functions

• Use standard maintenance equipment, including: vehicles, power equipment, hand tools, etc.
• Use standard office equipment, including: computer, phone, copier/scanner, etc.
• Relocate up to (50) pounds
• Be stationary or in motion for periods of time
• Travel to and from offsite locations
• Able to perform outdoor work in all types of weather

• Monday-Friday from approx. 8:00 am-5:00 pm
• Schedule subject to change and may require some weekends
• This position may require occasional long hours to meet business needs, including being available for emergency needs
