Job summary

Alhambra Golf Course, part of Troon, is seeking a full-time Irrigation Technician in Alhambra, CA. You will maintain and repair the golf course irrigation system, work with valves, controllers, pumps, and related electrical/hydraulic components, and help keep greens, tees and fairways healthy.

Candidates should have a valid driver’s license, basic mechanical skills, and a strong work ethic. The role may involve supervising a small crew and offers growth within a hospitality-focused property

Qualifications

Must possess a valid driver's license.
Experience with irrigation systems and electrical/hydraulic components.
Knowledge of agronomy, turf grass science and the rules of golf.
Ability to supervise small teams and promote safety.
Strong work ethic and reliability.

Responsibilities

Supervises a small labor force for projects.
Reports golf course conditions to the superintendent.
Opens the maintenance shop and runs operations in the supervisor's absence.
Repairs and ensures proper operation of the irrigation system; waters greens/tees/fairways.
Repairs greens with seeds or plugs of new grass as needed.
Aerifies greens; verticuts; mower tees/greens; operates sod cutter and spray rigs.
May change pins and tee markers.
Ensures a safe work environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
