Washington Golf & Country Club in Arlington, VA seeks an Assistant Superintendent to oversee daily maintenance, staff scheduling, irrigation, and agronomic programs on the 18‑hole course. The successful candidate will manage budgets, purchases, water management, and projects, coordinating with department heads and implementing turf‑grass strategies during seasonal stress.

Qualifications

• Degree in turfgrass management or currently enrolled in online turf program.
• Virginia State pesticide license or ability to obtain one within 12 months.
• Experience supervising and training employees with leadership skills.
• Spanish literacy is a plus; valid driver's license and computer literacy.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily golf course maintenance operations and crew management.
• Develop and manage budgets, purchasing, water management and projects.
• Coordinate with superintendent and other departments to plan grounds routines.
• Monitor pest/disease management and proper chemical applications as needed.
• Hire/train seasonal staff and manage staff timesheets and schedules.
