Job summary

This full-time position in the Parks Recreation & Culture department requires a high school diploma with horticulture

Qualifications

• Knowledge of gardening methods and park/golf course maintenance tools.
• Understanding of fungicides, growth regulators, insecticides and application timetables.
• Ability to train and develop employees engaged in park, golf course and landscape care.
• Ability to design and maintain landscape features including plants and irrigation elements.
• Ability to assess irrigation needs and supervise related installations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, develop and train staff in care of golf course grounds and parks.
• Determine requirements for park/golf amenities and oversee materials and crews.
• Operate mowing equipment, sprayers, backhoe, loaders and related park gear.
• Plan landscape tasks, install plant materials, fertilize and manage turf areas.
• Design, install and maintain irrigation systems and landscape features.
