Job summary

The Jekyll Island Authority is seeking a Golf Course Maintenance I, II, or III to perform daily groundskeeping duties on the island’s golf courses, driving range, and clubhouse grounds in Jekyll Island, GA.

Under general supervision, you will mow greens, tees, fairways, collars, roughs, trim around trees and paths, rotate tee markers, place cups, and operate light equipment while ensuring guest playability and a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in golf course maintenance or landscape work (III: 3–5 years; II: 2 years; I: 1 year).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays.
• MVR and criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Mow greens, tees, fairways, collars, roughs; edge, rake, and smooth bunkers.
• Trim grass around trees, cart paths, and hazards; rotate tee markers; place cups and pins.
• Operate light handheld machinery (weed eaters, backpack blowers, edgers) and mowers.
• Maintain signs, ropes, stakes, bollards, timbers, ball washers; repair turf as needed.
• Perform general maintenance, fill divots, repair damaged turf, and housekeeping of shop.
• Safely operate a chainsaw when applicable.
• Ensure guest experience through course condition and safety.
