Job summary

Jekyll Island Authority seeks an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to oversee daily maintenance of greens, fairways, and surrounding areas. You will supervise staff, manage chemical and irrigation systems, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2–4 years experience, pesticide licensing within six months, and a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. State park environment and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years experience in golf course maintenance; supervisory strongly preferred.
• Category 24 pesticide license required by hire or within 6 months.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, roughs, and related areas.
• Direct staff and manage daily operations of course maintenance and irrigation systems.
• Ensure safety rules and EPA/EPD compliance are followed.
• Train staff and ensure tasks align with job descriptions.
• Attend trainings and chapter/National education meetings.
