Job summary

Duke University Golf Club is seeking a dedicated grounds maintenance caretaker to operate and maintain golf course equipment according to schedules and supervision, ensuring a safe, tournament-ready course.

You will follow OSHA safety rules, work as part of a team, and participate in maintenance tasks such as inspections, preventative care, and required herbicide applications as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Educational background equivalent to high school with skilled crafts or trades training.
• 1 year experience in maintaining grounds and landscape to operate and maintain grounds and landscape equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain golf course maintenance equipment in accordance with schedules and supervisor instructions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, and painting as needed.
• Inspect and operate golf course equipment and follow the required maintenance checklist before use.
• Apply herbicides, fungicides, pesticides, and fertilizer as directed and according to schedule.
• Perform other golf course related duties as assigned by the head superintendent or assistants.

Education
