Job summary

Ranger role on a golf course seeks a friendly, punctual staff member to manage group pacing and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for players. You will assist with timing groups, communicate with course staff, and maintain signage and course boundaries throughout shifts.

The position emphasizes excellent verbal skills, neat appearance, and a willingness to work weekends and holidays, with direct reporting to the First Assistant Golf Professional.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent verbal communication and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of golf and course etiquette is required.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and maintain professional conduct.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

• Travel the golf course throughout the day timing the groups using the flag system to indicate the golfer's position on the golf course.
• Monitor and move any group behind the allotted time for their position on the golf course.
• Communicate with starter, cart staff and pro shop personnel to ensure smooth operations.
• Clean golf course signage and reposition penalty areas and out-of-bounds stakes when time permits.
• Direct players to correct holes as needed.
