Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf in Arizona seeks an Assistant Mechanic to help maintain golf course equipment, ensure safety, and support the Equipment Manager and Lead Mechanic.

Ideal candidates will have a basic mechanic background, strong teamwork, and a proactive approach to repairs. The role requires a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, with full-time hours and benefits described in the posting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year experience as a mechanic, or related experience preferred.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance through references and work history.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
• Certified as required.
• Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand the game of golf and the role of equipment maintenance in safety, quality, and aesthetics.
• Communicate with the Lead Mechanic, Equipment Manager, or the Assistant Superintendent on daily/weekly work assignments to ensure all needed equipment is available when needed; identify and correct performance problems; complete repairs and adjustments.
• Collaborate with the Equipment Manager and Lead Mechanic to create capital equipment budgets and execute daily, monthly, and annual budgets.
• Assist Lead Mechanic or Equipment Manager to ensure departmental compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment; ensure all equipment is being properly cleaned.
• Assist with the implementation of a thorough preventative maintenance program for all equipment; identify and correct performance problems; complete repairs/adjustments.
