Job summary

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio, TX is seeking a friendly Starter to welcome golfers and organize pace of play. You will greet players, verify check-ins at the golf shop, and answer questions about the facility, its rules, and course details.

The role requires high school education, hospitality or customer service experience, and a professional appearance. You will help enforce the dress code and support tournament events, working a flexible schedule including evenings

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Prior hospitality experience preferred.
• At least one-year customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the game of golf preferred.

The Starters will provide all players or non-playing guests with an anticipated, well-informed and enthusiastic greeting. They will assist the Golf Professional in maintaining orderly tee time starts, enforcing golf dress code and monitoring golf course etiquette. Have thorough knowledge of the golf course and policies so as to appropriately answer inquiries from guest about facility and services. Helping keep the course clean and helping create an enjoyable golf experience for all guests. Provides the highest possible level of customer service through continual adherence and support of the mission statement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greeting every golfer prior to the start of their round.

Qualifications

Experience & Education:

• High school education required
• Prior hospitality experience preferred
• At least one-year customer service experience preferred
• Knowledge of the game of golf preferred

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, cold, sun & heat);
• Must be able to stand & walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces;
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull & carry up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs;
• Must be able to bend, squat, & twist on an occasional basis
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, squeezing, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently;and fine manipulation occasionally.
