Canonical is hiring a Golang software engineer to work on the low-level Go codebase between the REST API and the low-level C libraries used to manage containers and virtual machines. This is a remote position available in the Americas and EMEA.

You will design Go code, model data, and implement storage in a dqlite database, while maintaining code quality through tests and static analysis. Expect collaboration across a distributed team and 2–4 weeks of travel yearly.

Formación

• Experience programming in Go and C.
• Knowledge of networking and storage technologies.
• Experience with two or more of: cloud computing, virtualization, containers, distributed systems, open source communities.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement and document system level Go code.
• Model data, design database schema and implement data storage in a dqlite database.
• Maintain code quality through static analysis, unit and system tests.
• Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
• Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions.
• Work from home with 2–4 weeks/year travel for internal/external events.
