Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Golang software engineer for the LXD team to design next-generation private cloud infrastructure. This remote role offers collaboration with a distributed team while focusing on system-level Go code and database schema design.

Qualifications

• Experience programming in Go and C.
• Knowledgeable in networking and storage technologies.
• Experience with cloud computing, virtualisation, containers, distributed systems, or open-source.
• Curious, flexible, articulate and accountable.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and document system-level Go code.
• Model database schema and implement data storage in a dqlite database.
• Maintain code quality through static analysis, unit, and system tests.
• Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
• Discuss ideas and collaborate on solutions.
