Job summary

Envision Technology Solutions is seeking a backend-focused engineer to design, build, and maintain services powering the Stargazer automation platform. You will drive reliability by managing error budgets and surface problems through strong observability and instrumentation.

You will work with Golang, Java, GraphQL, and a stack including MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and Kubernetes to scale high-throughput pipelines and coordinate with product and operations teams.

Qualifications

Production experience with backend services in a cloud environment.
Experience building scalable streaming pipelines and high-throughput systems.
Strong knowledge of observability and incident management practices.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain backend services for the Stargazer automation platform.
Champion reliable engineering practices and manage error budgets.
Ensure proper instrumentation, monitoring and integration with in-house incident management system.
Collaborate with stakeholders and product managers to scale systems and prevent antipatterns.

Job description

Design build and maintain backend services for the Stargazer automation platform

Treat Reliability as a Feature owning error budgets relentlessly hunting down errors and shielding the system from antipatterns or designs that conceal problems instead of surfacing them

Ensure errors are tracked instrumentation is up to date and fully integrated with our inhouse incident management system

Champion sound system engineering practices while collaborating closely with stakeholders and product managers

Contribute to scaling a high throughput automation platform powering streaming pipelines

What Were Looking For

Hands-on production experience with

Golang primary language
Java
Graph QL APIs
MongoDB Redis
CQRS architecture and Kafka
SRE mindset proven ability to implement and enforce error budgets observability and resilience at scale
Familiarity with Kubernetes cloud variants GKE OCI and ArgoCD
Experience with ELK stack for observability
Exposure to NoSQL systems like ScyllaDB or MongoDB beyond primary expertise
Strong communication skills for working across engineering product and operations
