Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Back End Go Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs powering enterprise apps and digital platforms. You will collaborate with product managers, architects, and DevOps to deliver secure, reliable software and contribute to modernization efforts.

The role involves building microservices, implementing RESTful APIs and gRPC, and ensuring code quality through reviews and automated testing in a collaborative, Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on Go backend experience.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and distributed systems.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, gRPC, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience building microservices and event-driven applications.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Go (Golang).
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, frontend developers, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Develop scalable microservices and distributed applications.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, gRPC, and event-driven integrations.
• Build secure, performant backend systems following established standards.
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in reviews.
• Develop data access layers and business logic components.
• Troubleshoot production issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Create automated tests for unit, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Work with cloud services and container orchestration platforms.
• Monitor health and performance of applications.
• Create architecture diagrams and API specifications.
