Job summary

Athos Commerce in Denver, CO is seeking a backend software engineer (Go) to power our flagship search and merchandising platforms. You will own end-to-end backend features, build scalable Go microservices, and collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-availability services.

Ideal candidates have 1–4 years of professional backend experience, a BS in CS or equivalent, and proven ability to build distributed, cloud-based systems with production-grade Go code.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of backend software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience building distributed, cloud-based, high-availability systems.
• Proven ability to write production-grade Golang services.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Milvus, ScyllaDB, MySQL, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Argo.
• E-commerce search/merchandising domain experience preferred.
• Proficiency with AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and drive features for our search and merchandising backends.
• Own end-to-end backend features and Go microservices.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps to refine user stories and feasibility.
• Produce clean, idiomatic Go code and conduct peer reviews.
• Troubleshoot and upgrade production software while maintaining SLAs.
• Assist in onboarding junior engineers and drive process improvements.
• Partner with DevOps on infrastructure, cloud systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
