Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA, is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control engineer to design algorithms and flight software for a high-performance satellite constellation. You will advance state estimation, attitude control, and precise pointing while developing robust onboard autonomy and fleet-wide performance tools.

You will write production C flight code, validate concepts in simulations and hardware-in-the-loop tests, and collaborate across avionics,

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s with 4 years of quantitative field research experience.
• Experience developing guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for aerospace systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze algorithms for state estimation, attitude determination and control, precise pointing, and payload cueing against demanding performance requirements.
• Write the production C flight code that runs these algorithms on the satellite.
• Design concepts of operation that balance pointing and payload cueing, momentum management, power, thermal, and communications across all mission phases.
• Develop onboard autonomy, including Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery.
• Analyze fleet telemetry and build metrics, dashboards, and tooling for monitoring pointing performance and payload operations.
