Job summary

Amentum is seeking a GN&C Engineer to join our team supporting NASA’s deep space exploration missions. The role focuses on developing and evaluating safety-critical flight software, and on integrating GN&C algorithms to enable precise navigation and control in flight software.

Responsibilities include validating GN&C algorithms, leveraging MATLAB/Simulink, Autocode, Python, and C/C++, and improving software processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; related field experience acceptable.
• Significant knowledge of GN&C (guidance, navigation & control).
• Experience with development and analysis of 6 DOF algorithms and simulations.
• Proficiency with C/C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with validation and verification of GN&C algorithms and requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with NASA civil servants and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate safety-critical flight software.
• Develop, integrate, and test GN&C algorithms.
• Update GN&C Flight Software using MATLAB/Simulink/Autocode.
• Analyze GN&C Flight Software with Python and C/C++.
• Validate and verify GN&C algorithms and requirements.
• Suggest improvements to flight software, processes, and procedures.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses of flight and simulation software.
• Perform other duties as required.
