Job summary

Craig Technologies in Huntsville, AL seeks a Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GN&C) Engineer to help design, develop, and test the GN&C system for the Lunar Data Network spacecraft. You will contribute to real-time flight software, sensor integration, and on-orbit performance analyses.

The role requires 3–5 years in flight or simulation software (C/C++/Python), Kalman filter experience, and familiarity with space hardware like IMUs and Star Trackers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace or electrical engineering with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• 3–5 years writing flight or simulation software in C, C++, and/or Python.
• Experience developing Kalman filters for spacecraft state estimation.
• Familiarity with GN&C hardware like IMUs, Star Trackers, and Reaction Wheels.
• Experience with HWIL/SWIL testbeds and RTOS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and verify GN&C system architecture for Lunar Data Network.
• Develop and peer-review high-reliability GN&C flight software in C/C++.
• Support selection and integration of GN&C sensors and effectors.
• Run 6-DOF simulations and Monte Carlo analyses for on-orbit performance.
• Assist HWIL/SWIL integration and testing for the LDN constellation.
• Implement autonomous fault-tolerant recovery logic for navigation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across software, hardware, and ops.
• Document architectures, trades, and simulation results clearly.
