Job summary

Craig Technologies is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GN&C) Engineer to join our team on Merritt Island, FL, contributing to GN&C design, development, and testing for the Lunar Data Network spacecraft.

The role involves real-time flight software, Kalman filters, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and cross-functional collaboration with software and hardware teams. A 3–5 year background in aerospace GNC and strong programming skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• 3–5 years of direct experience writing flight or simulation software in C, C++, and/or Python.
• Proven experience developing, tuning, and implementing Kalman Filters (EKFs) for spacecraft state estimation.
• Familiarity with GN&C hardware architectures (IMUs, Star Trackers, Reaction Wheels, Thruster clusters).
• Experience with SWIL/HWIL testbeds to integrate and calibrate sensor packages.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, architecture development, and verification of GN&C for Lunar Data Network spacecraft.
• Develop, test, and peer-review GN&C flight software and control algorithms in C/C++.
• Support selection, trade studies, procurement, and integration of GN&C sensors and effector systems.
• Execute simulations and analyses (6-DOF, Monte Carlo) for on-orbit performance and stability.
• Assist in HWIL/SWIL sensor integration and testing for the LDN constellation.
• Document software architectures and simulation results in technical reports.
