Job summary

Craig Technologies is seeking a GN&C Engineer to join our Houston, TX team (also Merritt Island, FL). You will contribute to the GN&C system design, development, and testing for the Lunar Data Network spacecraft, with emphasis on real-time flight software and autonomous fault-tolerant navigation.

The role requires experience in C/C++, EKFs or state estimation, and familiarity with deep-space sensors such as IMUs and Star Trackers.

  • Ability to think critically and detail-oriented in a fast-paced space environment.
  • Experience collaborating across software, hardware, and mission operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, architecture development, and verification testing of GN&C systems for LDN spacecraft.
  • Develop and test GN&C flight software and control algorithms in C/C++.
  • Support selection and integration of GN&C sensors and effectors.
  • Run simulations (6-DOF) and Monte Carlo analyses for on-orbit performance.
  • Assist HWIL/SWIL sensor integration and testing for LDN constellation.
  • Contribute to autonomous fault-tolerant recovery logic for navigation anomalies.
  • Apply relative navigation or OpNav techniques for non-Earth GPS scenarios.
  • Document architectures and simulation results in reports and presentations.
