Job description

Responsibilities
  • Perform software development for Wholesale Electric Market Applications and Web‑based User Interfaces (e.g., Day‑Ahead Market, Reliability Unit Commitment, Ancillary Service Market, SCED, CIM Importer, Market Submissions, APIs, MMS databases, Market Simulator, Outage Scheduler, Congestion Revenue Rights).
  • Adhere to software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, including testing, validation, integration, and delivery of high‑quality software.
  • Organize and coordinate the planning, design, architecture, and integration phases of GMS Market and UI product software development.
  • Lead all phases of product software development lifecycle: analysis, design, test, and integration for the suite of Wholesale Electric Market Applications and Web‑based User Interfaces.
  • Identify and resolve data modeling issues in MMS & CRR applications to meet market application requirements.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis of issues and automate development processes using Continuous Integration (CI) & Continuous Delivery (CD) tools (e.g., Bitbucket).
  • Design and develop market‑application optimization solvers (CPLEX/AMPL) and enhancements to market systems integration layers.
  • Conduct code reviews, approve code changes, and mentor lower‑level developers.
  • Advise ERCOT Grid and Market Operations on GMS market applications, processes, and tools.
  • Serve as subject‑matter expert and ensure compliance with SDLC standards, change‑management process, and ERCOT architectural standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as an Application Engineer or Application Developer.
  • Experience in Energy Management Systems (Power Systems) for the electric utility industry.
  • Proficiency with CCD/SCED, CIM models, and web‑based UI technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of software development life cycle, CI/CD, and code‑review practices.
Worksite & Telecommute

2705 West Lake Drive, Taylor, Texas, 76574, United States. May telecommute up to 3 days per week from within the state of Texas.

Compensation

Salary range: $163,550.00 – $185,571.00 per year.
